I’m Henry Ebinger, called Hank by many. I have served as Mayor since December 2014 and previously served as a Tulelake Council Member in 1996. I attended school at Tulelake High School in 1965, then transferred to Chiloquin High School when my parents moved, graduating in 1966. I served in the US Navy as an Interior Communication Electrician, spending time at sea and also on the rivers and along the coast of South Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1975 after having served a second hitch. I moved back to Tulelake and went to work for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. I had an interesting and varied career doing a number of jobs, primarily as an Engineering Equipment Operator and also served as a Refuge Law Enforcement Officer. After retiring in 2006, I was hired by the City of Tulelake to serve as the Director of Public Works until I retired in 2013. I have a son Marc, a Police Officer with the San Antonio Police Department, who lives there with his beautiful wife Jennifer and their wonderful daughter Brooke. I am a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion and recently, became a member of the Rotary Club International. I was honored that the citizens of Tulelake had the faith and trust to elect me to the City Council and then was further humbled when nominated to be Mayor by our Council Members. I will work hard to keep your trust and confidence that have been placed in me and strive to improve the business climate and livability of Tulelake through collaborative partnerships. I love our community, here in the center of our beautiful Basin called “Home” by our town and country residents alike, as Tulelake, is a great place to live!
